Westers efficiencydenken?

Van 1 t/m 18 oktober waren we in Zimbabwe. We zijn actief geweest op de Durlstoneschool en Howgate secondary school. We vertellen mensen erover. Velen vinden het leuk, zijn geïnteresseerd. Anderen boeit het niet. Vandaag sprak ik iemand en die opperde dat het zinvoller is om de reis niet te maken. Beter het geld dat we besteden aan de tickets enzo overmaken naar de scholen. Het zette me aan het denken. Misschien is dat inderdaad zo. Efficiënt, rationeel, weinig tegen in te brengen. Natuurlijk: wij hadden een geweldige tijd, maar het gaat niet om ons!

Wat kon ik doen? Ik heb de vraag voorgelegd aan de docenten van Howgate, waar ik mee heb gewerkt. Hoe kijken zij er tegenaan? Hier reacties.

Krijg je de kans of overweeg je een project te bezoeken, neem dit dan mee! Je maakt een verschil. Hopelijk is dit geen reden om geen goede doelen meer te supporten! Als je iets kunt doen om een ander te helpen, help je ook jezelf.
